Ce:GAGG GAGG-K
Gadolinium aluminum gallium garnet (Ce:GAGG) is a yellow crystal with a high light output of 50000 ph/MeV, a short decay time of 50ns, and a high density of 6.63 g/cm³. Its light output, decay time, energy resolution, density, and lack of intrinsic radioactivity make Ce:GAGG an attractive material with broad application prospects in scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray and γ-ray detection, medical imaging, nuclear energy, and high-energy physics. Ce:GAGG scintillation crystal—a scintillation crystal for high-precision detection. Cerium-doped multicomponent gadolinium aluminum gallium garnet (Ce:GAGG), with the chemical formula Ce:Gd₃Aₗ₂Ga₃O₁₂, is one of the most important discoveries of the past decade. It offers excellent scintillation performance and has entered the scintillator market. Its effective atomic number is 54.4, and its emission spectrum peaks at 520nm. In addition to high light yield, high energy resolution, a high effective atomic number, a fast scintillation response, chemical stability, strength, and the ability to grow large crystals, Ce:GAGG has other important properties. Its linear response to gamma quanta indicates promise for medical imaging techniques such as radiography, X-ray computed tomography (CT), and positron emission tomography (PET). Single-crystal scintillators are also commonly used in scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
