Eu:SrI₂
The use of nuclear security inspection technologies in counterterrorism and the continuing development of nuclear medical imaging place increasing demands on the light output and energy resolution of scintillation crystals. Security applications and nuclear nonproliferation depend on rapid identification of highly enriched uranium, radiation sources and other special nuclear materials. Since their invention in 1948, halide crystals have been widely used as radiation materials in high-energy physics, nuclear medicine, security inspection and addressing research. Eu:SrI₂ is a promising next-generation γ scintillator because of its high light output, good luminescence performance, energy resolution and high effective atomic number. We supply high-quality crystals tailored to customer requirements. Eu:SrI₂ scintillation crystal — a scintillation crystal with high light output and high energy resolution. Efficient radiation detectors must distinguish between different radiation sources. Gamma-ray detection requires scintillator materials with high energy resolution, high light yield and short decay times. Compared with conventional scintillation crystals, Eu:SrI₂ offers higher light yield and better energy resolution. It is also less hygroscopic and can be stored indefinitely in an environment with low moisture content and stable conditions. Its emission wavelength is 400-500 nm, closely matching the sensitive spectral range of mainstream PMTs and benefiting scintillation-photon detection. Eu:SrI₂ is also insensitive to changes in ambient temperature. This broadens its use in γ-ray spectroscopy for security inspection equipment, elemental isotope screening, and scintillation detectors for high-resolution X-ray imaging in industrial and medical CT.
