Yb:YAG
Ytterbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Yb:YAG) is one of the most promising solid-state laser working materials, and is more suitable for diode pumping than Nd-doped systems. It has a broader absorption bandwidth, longer upper laser level lifetime, 3-4 times lower heat load per unit pump power, extremely low local overheating (<11%), high slope efficiency, and high thermal conductivity and mechanical strength.
