β-BBO (barium metaborate) is a negative uniaxial nonlinear optical crystal with a wide phase-matching band (409.6-3500 nm), wide transmission band (190-3500 nm), high frequency-doubling conversion efficiency (about 6 times that of KDP), high damage threshold, good optical homogeneity (δn≈10-6/cm) and wide temperature acceptance (~55 ℃). Crystals can be provided with a minimum thickness of 0.005 mm, a maximum length of 25 mm and a maximum size of 15×15×15 mm^3.
