Cr:YAG
Chromium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal (Cr4+:YAG) is an excellent passive Q-switch crystal, widely used for passive Q-switching of neodymium-doped YLF, neodymium-doped yttrium vanadate and neodymium- or ytterbium-doped lasers with wavelengths from 0.8 to 1.2um. Due to its superior chemical stability, UV radiation resistance and good thermal conductivity, plus a very high damage threshold, Cr4+:YAG has become a very popular passive Q-switching material.
