lithium niobate
Lithium niobate (LiNbO3), due to its very large electro-optic coefficient, acousto-optic coefficient and high damage threshold, is widely used in electro-optic devices such as electro-optic modulators and Q-switches. The electro-optic modulation of lithium niobate belongs to transverse modulation: light propagates along the Z axis, and electrodes are plated on the X face to generate an electric field in the X direction. Union Optic can also provide lithium tantalate crystals with an even higher damage threshold. ★ Large electro-optic coefficient ★ Mainly used for Q-switches
