The tip features a black cylindrical housing with a square stainless steel mounting flange fixed by two Phillips screws, and a knurled front section for easy installation and removal from the microscope probe body. The metal flange is engraved with the marking 'ST CR / MNS', indicating its compatibility with ST-type connectors. Once attached to the inspection probe, the tip guides the ST connector ferrule (typically 2.5mm) into the correct focal position, enabling fast, accurate and repeatable visual inspection of the fiber end-face for scratches, cracks, contamination and polishing defects, helping ensure the quality and reliability of fiber optic links.
