Sapphire Al2O3 Laser Crystal Windows Product Attributes
As a kind of Optical Element, Sapphire is a single crystal form of Al2O3, with a favorable combination of chemical, mechanical and optical properties. Sapphire crystal is resistant to attack by strong acids, enabling use in a corrosive atmosphere. It is resistant to scratch and abrasion with very high Knoop hardness of 1800 parallel to the optic axis (C-axis), 2200 perpendicular to the optic axis. Uncoated Sapphire Optical Windows are ideal for harsh conditions, including environments subject to high temperatures, high pressures, strong vacuum, or corrosive atmospheres. Sapphire has high compressive strength and is resistant to attack from strong acid. Coupletech provides Sapphire Al2O3 is one of the hardest materials, and possesses very good transmission during the range of visible and near IR spectrum. Al2O3 is widely used as optical window in infrared and far infrared military equipments, apparatus and instruments of satellite and space technology, and navigation and spaceflight, such as night infrared scope/sight and night vision camera, etc. The sapphire windows are intensively applied in high-tech fields. Coupletech also provides other kinds of optical element such as : Optical Lenses, Optical Filters, Beamsplitter, Optical Mirrors, and optical prism.
