Japanese Fujikura 88R12 Ribbon Fiber Fusion Splicer
Fujikura has developed and manufactured fusion splicers for over 30years and is recognized as an industry design leader. The88R12 ribbon splicer has a broad heating zone for up to 12fibers, melting uniformly between electrodes and controlling discharge strength in real time from arc brightness. Although ribbon splicers lack core alignment, Fujikura analyzes surface-tension effects during discharge to reduce fiber-offset impact. A spare12-fiber V-groove and installed spare electrodes are standard; field-replaceable grooves reduce maintenance downtime. Automatic wind cover/heater minimize manual steps. Heater geometry positions heat-shrink sleeves and aligns sleeve/heater centers. Fujikura's pioneering intelligent blade management connects by Bluetooth to twoCT50cleavers and oneRS02/03ribbon stripper. Monitoring cut quality detects wear and commands automatic blade rotation. The multifunction carrying case permits splicing when opened; the splicer can sit atop the case or on a removable tray. The latest tray has two large drawers for tools/batteries and separates into two sections for different sites. Blade-life management and stripper-condition control make the88R12 described as Fujikura's most intelligent, user-friendly, automated ribbon splicer.
