Pigtailed Collimator
Fiber collimators can collimate the divergent beam emitted from a fiber end face into a parallel beam, or converge a parallel beam and efficiently couple it into a fiber. They are basic components in passive optical devices. A fiber collimator is made by precisely positioning a pigtail fiber and a focusing lens; it can convert the transmitted light inside the fiber into collimated light, or couple external parallel light into the fiber.
