Santec's Unidirectional Tap-Integrated Photo Detector (IPD-UD) is an optical power monitoring device consisting of individual tap-integrated photo detectors. The IPD is very compact and can be easily mounted on a PCB for system use. It delivers excellent optical properties, including a broad wavelength range covering the C- and L-band, low insertion loss, and high sensitivity. By integrating the tap and the photodetector into a single device, the IPD eliminates the need for a separate optical fiber coupler/splitter and photodetector, providing a simple, low-cost solution for optical power monitoring in DWDM and switching systems.
