Optical Prism
This product documentation presents a series of precision optical prisms shown through optical path diagrams. The series covers multiple prism geometries, including a 45° rhomboid/Dove-type prism for lateral beam displacement and image rotation, a 60° dispersing/deviation prism for beam deflection, a compact multi-reflection image erecting prism, an elongated prism pair for beam shaping, and a compound prism assembly with defined entrance and exit beam orientations (marked with R). The prisms work on the principle of refraction and total internal reflection at precisely polished surfaces, enabling image inversion/reversion, optical path folding, beam steering and beam displacement without the need for metallic mirror coatings. Angular references of 45° and 60° are indicated on the drawings as the key working angles of the reflective faces. These prisms are fundamental building blocks in optical instruments such as telescopes, binoculars, periscopes, rangefinders, surveying instruments, spectrometers and laser systems.
