Lightel can provide you with a series of multimode 1X2 fiber couplers with Ø50 µm or Ø62.5 µm graded-index fiber, operating at 850/1310 nm. These couplers have splitting ratios of 50:50, 90:10, 99:1 and other ratios; please refer to the specification datasheet, and batch customization is accepted. The ends can be without connectors or with 2.0 mm narrow-key FC/PC connectors. All fiber pigtails are 1.0 +0.1/-0 m in length with Ø900 μm protection sleeves. These multimode couplers have low input loss and excellent environmental and mechanical stability, making them an ideal solution for combining and separating signals in multimode fiber systems, for example monitoring optical signals with minimal loss. Although the specified wavelength range is ±40 nm, these couplers can also be used at other wavelengths. The 1x2 coupler has only one input port, simplifying use and cable management. The unused port is terminated inside the coupler housing by a special method that minimizes back reflection (see the 1x2 coupler tutorial tab for details). These couplers are extremely suitable for applications where light enters from the input port, is split into 2 paths, and exits from 2 output ports at the specified coupling ratio. At the same time, the coupler is bidirectional and works equally well in reverse; when used to combine light, a large portion of the light is lost at the internal termination.

Single fused tree couplers have been widely used in CATV, LAN, AM video systems and all other types of optical communication systems.
