Calcite Crystal
Iceland spar is a birefringent crystal, a carbonate mineral and the most stable form of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is a negative uniaxial crystal, mainly used in visible and near-infrared polarizers. Its rhombohedral structure provides high birefringence and broad spectral transmission.
