Zhongke Yuanzi's ICMOS camera directly couples a CMOS image sensor to an image intensifier through a fiber-optic taper. This intensified camera series offers compact construction, small size, low power consumption and low distortion, providing low-light, high-resolution, wide-dynamic-range, large-area image output. Customization is available for different applications. Coupling an image intensifier to a CMOS sensor through relay optics provides two key benefits. First, selecting suitable intensifier input windows, photocathodes and filters extends the ICMOS spectral response from visible light to X-rays, ultraviolet or near infrared for different uses. Second, sensitivity is greatly improved to 10⁻⁴lx, addressing low-light imaging limitations of ordinary cameras. With the intensifier as its core, the camera uses pulsed high voltage to control optical-electrical-optical-electrical conversion and amplify weak light. Advanced optomechanical and electronic integration combines the intensifier, picosecond/nanosecond gating module, timing module, fiber-optic taper and CMOS sensor. Short optical gating supports synchronized weak-signal detection in low-light imaging, range gating, combustion diagnostics, time-domain Raman spectroscopy, three-dimensional imaging and fluorescence-lifetime measurements.
