Mchlight fiber polarization controllers create stress-induced birefringence by winding fiber around two or three circular paddles, forming independent waveplates that change the polarization state of light propagating in single-mode fiber. The fiber fast axis lies in the plane of the winding paddle, so rotating the paddles adjusts any input polarization state. We offer three-loop polarization controllers with paddle diameters of 27mm or 56mm, and miniature two-loop controllers with 18mm paddles. Controllers without fiber are available so users can wind their own single-mode fiber with a Ø900 µm jacket, as are versions with FC/PC or FC/APC fiber patch cords.
