Applications

Huixinte's Vispace 1000-series PON reach extender integrates PON and optoelectronic conversion technologies to address high line loss and short transmission distances in practical PON deployments, enabling wider coverage. Application 1: Multiple PON services over one fiber. In densely populated areas, a PON aggregation/reach extender between OLT and ODN combines with WDM to carry multiple PON services on one fiber, improving efficiency, saving fibers and broadening coverage. Figure 1: Point-to-point carriage of multiple PON services using aggregation/reach extension with WDM. Ring networking with WDM and centralized OLT deployment reduces fiber use and extends distance, while WDM electrical/optical-layer protection improves link reliability. Figure 2: Ring-protected multi-PON transport using aggregation/reach extension and WDM. Application 2: Single-PON amplification and reach extension. In sparsely populated remote areas, an extender in the OLT-to-ONT fiber link extends one PON for service coverage. Figure 3: Architecture with the PON reach extender between OLT and ODN. RE deployment between a splitter and ONU extends individual branches. As ODN coverage changes, aggregation/reach extension increases distance and split ratio. New buildings with low occupancy can connect to an existing ODN for more flexible, convenient deployment. Figure 4: Architecture with the extender between ODN and ODN.
