LMP5 tungsten-halogen source: Stability is the most important property of a light source. It integrates an advanced DC power system, a long-life German bulb rated for 4000 hours, quartz lenses from Japan/Germany and a Taiwanese DC power supply. 1. Quartz lenses provide a broader spectrum and greater efficiency than competing products. 2. High-quality DC power and fan cooling provide output stability <0.1% over 8 hours. 3. A German-made 4000-hour bulb provides long operating life. An 8-hour stability test shows stability of 0.001, or 0.1%. The figure below shows the actual source spectrum measured with our SPM3 spectrometer. Because the optical signal is very strong, integration time is 100 microseconds to avoid saturation.
