Spheric Lenses
Lens is a curved piece of ground and polished or molded material, usual glass, used for the refraction of light. It always consist of one or more pieces of optical glass with surfaces curved (always spherical) that they serve to converge or diverge the transmitted rays from an object, thus forming a real or virtual image of that object. The application range from the simple collection of the scanning of laser beams to precise imaging and image transfer. Lenses are classified as singlet lenses, cylindrical lenses and achromatic lenses according to their different applications. WITOPTICS provides five kinds of lens forms, or shapes, that determine the imaging Characteristics of the lenses, they are Plano-convex, Plano-concave ,Double-convex,Double-concave and Meniscus. Plano-convex lens has a positive focal length, which makes it ideal for collecting and focusing light for many imaging applications. Plano-concave lens has a negative focal length and is used for image reduction or to spread light. Double-convex lens has a positive focal length and is useful for 1:1 imaging and in multielement systems. also known as biconvex or equiconvex.
