STAN-SSL Low Specular Reflectance Standard
STAN-SSL Low Specular Reflectance Standard is a neutral density filter standard. It can serve as a reference when measuring substances with low specular reflectance values on their surfaces, such as thin films, anti-reflection layers, and blocking filters. The STAN-SSL coating provides ~4.0% reflectance over the 200-2500 nm wavelength range. The STAN-SSL photosensitive substrate has a diameter of 1.25" and is mounted in a hard 1.5" x 0.75" blue anodized aluminum box, with the lid screwed on for protection. Usage Tips When using Ocean Optics spectrometers, STAN-SSL is limited to 200-1100 nm Use STAN-SSL to set the low reflectance reference to ~4% Although the neutral density filter material is very durable, users should still take extra care during use to ensure the standard surface is not damaged. When cleaning the STAN-SSL surface, first blow off surface dirt and dust with high-pressure gas, then use the drag cleaning method to remove fingerprints and fixed residues from the surface. The drag cleaning method is to use lens paper dipped in acetone or alcohol and slowly drag it across the lens surface. As long as it is done correctly, the solvent will evaporate evenly without leaving streaks or stains on the lens surface.
