TP300 Transmission Immersion Probe (for Harsh Environments) (TP300-UV-VIS)
TP300-UV-VIS is a transmission immersion probe that can be connected with our spectrometers and light sources to measure absorbance and transmittance in harsh environments. TP300-UV-VIS is a chemically inert PEEK transmission probe that can be mounted on a tip (RT-PH type) so that a transmission membrane can be installed in the optical path. Light passes through an optical fiber, through the assembled membrane to the lens. It is then redirected back through the membrane to a receiving optical fiber, which returns the light to the spectrometer. The sample can flow freely on either side of the membrane. TP300-UV-VIS can be used for routine transmittance measurements by using the RTP-2-10 (2-10 mm adjustable) transmission head. Probe Assembly The TP300-UV-VIS consists of two 300-µm optical fibers, one light source fiber and one red fiber, assembled in a 3.175-mm outer diameter stainless steel ring, and the stainless steel ring is then sealed with a PEEK jacket. You can also choose to assemble it with radiation-resistant fiber and UV-NIR fiber. PEEK Sleeve The PEEK sleeve is shown in the top figure and can be used up to a maximum of 200 degrees. PEEK material is not only radiation-resistant and flame-retardant but also has excellent chemical resistance. The PEEK sleeve (TPSLEEVE) is sold together with TP300-UV-VIS, and the stainless steel jacket shown in the figure on the right (T300SLEEVE) can also be used. Transmission Immersion Probe - Working Principle In the immersion transmission probe, light is transmitted through an optical fiber, passing through a plano-convex lens and a sample cell, to a flat double-sided mirror. The light is reflected from this mirror and focused by the lens onto the readout fiber. The advantage of the transmission probe is its compact optical design, which allows it to be accommodated within a 1.4" outer diameter stainless steel body or metal ring. By alternating these probes, it is possible to measure transmitted light and backscattered light from the sample and to generate internal reflected light within the dynamic range that limits the measurement. This immersion probe is a cost-effective choice for many on-line control and laboratory applications. Probe cap with adjustable pathlength
