Overview
The MS-DAS system is a distributed acoustic sensor product with world leaders. The product uses autonomously designed micro-structured fibres, which are continuously distributed backwards; optical time-resilient sensing techniques based on photo-connected detection; and capable of continuously recording acoustic signal transmissions and acoustic spatial distribution along long-range fibres. The system is minimally detectable in response to Quadaana; response bands cover subacoustic to ultrasound bands; distributive measurements that can be applied to seismic waves, microvibration and microresponses; and applications in areas such as resource exploration, seismic monitoring, pipe safety and perimeter security have great potential. The distributed acoustic sensor system has desktop-based DAS-2000 III and rack-based DAS2100-R product types.
