Low-Order Waveplate
Low-order waveplates are made of a single quartz or MgF2 crystal, achieving the required phase retardation through the optical path difference between the o-ray and e-ray of the crystal. Compared with zero-order waveplates, they have a simpler structure and lower cost, making them suitable for high-volume industrial applications. The single-plate structure gives them a very high damage threshold; the wavelength can be customized from 150 to 7000 nm, and all surfaces are AR coated.
