Iceland Spar CaCO3 (Calcite)
Calcite (Calcite, CaCO3) is a natural birefringent material with good optical performance from the visible to the near-infrared, a transmission range of 350~2300 nm, Mohs hardness of 3, and density of 2.7 g/cm^3, and is a negative uniaxial crystal. Large-size products (up to 45 mm) can be processed at affordable prices.
