BK7 and Fused Silica Glass Dove Prism
Dove prisms are usually made of optical glass such as BK7 or fused silica. With the simple shape of a right triangular prism, they reflect light twice internally, rotating the image 180° without changing left-right orientation. Mainly used as rotators: when the prism is rotated by a certain angle around the input parallel light, the image rotates by twice that angle; they can also be used as retroreflectors.
