Quarter-Wave Plate (λ / 4 - QWP)
A quarter-wave plate (λ/4 wave plate) is a birefringent optical element that converts linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light, and vice versa, by introducing a 90° phase shift between orthogonal polarization components. Features: Precise λ/4 phase retardation at the design wavelength Multiple substrate options: quartz, magnesium fluoride and other materials to cover different wavelength ranges AR coatings for high transmission available (narrowband or broadband) High surface quality (20-10 or better) and low wavefront distortion Wide size range: diameters from 3 mm to 50 mm Custom designs available based on wavelength, size, coating and laser damage threshold
