High Transmittance Optical Glass
High-transmittance optical glass refers to glass whose transmittance in the blue-violet and visible light ranges is improved through process improvements over ordinary optical glass. Compared with ordinary-transmittance optical glass, high-transmittance optical glass can significantly improve the imaging quality of optical systems with long optical paths, and is suitable for high-end telescopes, digital projectors, etc. According to the degree of transmittance improvement, high-transmittance optical glass can be divided into high-transmittance and extra-high-transmittance optical glass, named by adding letters (GT, TT) after the grade. 'GT', the initials of 'gao tou' (high transmittance) in Chinese pinyin, indicates high-transmittance glass; 'TT', the initials of 'te' and 'tou' (extra and transmittance), indicates extra-high-transmittance glass.
