| Technical Information | Low softening point optical glass is generally produced at a reference annealing rate of 25°C/h. The nd and νd values provided on the certificate of conformity received with the product are data of a small sample annealed at 25°C/h and are not the same as the nd and νd of the actual glass. Because the cooling rate of the precision molding process is high, the nd of the product after precision molding is lower than the nd provided on the certificate based on annealing at 25°C/h; the degree of nd reduction depends on the glass type, the precision molding process and the product geometry. The company can adjust the nd of the glass appropriately according to customer requirements.
