The Santec OVA-100 Optical Variable Attenuator enables precise optical power control featuring high accuracy and superior repeatability, and can be used as a benchtop or rackmount instrument. It offers ±0.01dB repeatability and a dynamic range of up to 100dB depending on the model configuration. The OVA-100 can be controlled via the front panel 5-inch touch screen, or remotely via USB and Ethernet. It features a wide wavelength range: the single-mode and Panda PM attenuators cover 1200-1700nm, while the multimode versions cover 750-1700nm. An optional power monitoring PD can be added to read the power output of the instrument, and the power leveling setting automatically adjusts the attenuation for a constant selectable power level. The instrument is available with single-mode 9μm, Panda PM, HI1060, and multimode 50μm and 62.5μm fiber types, with 1, 2 or 4 attenuator modules in 1U or 2U half-rack chassis.

Santec's OVB-100 Optical Variable Backreflector enables precise backreflection control and superior repeatability in a benchtop or rackmount form factor. It offers ±0.02 dB repeatability with a 60 dB adjustment range in single-mode (1200 to 1700 nm) and a 35 dB range in multimode (750 to 1700 nm). The instrument can be operated via its front-panel 5-inch touch screen or remotely through USB and Ethernet, and an optional 50/50 coupler can be added to bypass the variable backreflector for input signal monitoring. It is ideal for lab and production applications including transceiver testing, QA testing, laser production and automated test systems, and complies with UL/CSA 61010, IEC 61010, FCC Part 15 (Class A) and EN 61326 (Class A) standards.
