The predecessor of Phenix Optics is Jiangxi Optical Instrument General Factory, which was established on August 15, 1965 as part of the national small third-line construction. It was jointly approved by the former State Planning Commission and the First Ministry of Machine Building, and was set up in Huangbaiyang Village, Huaqiao Township, Dexing, Shangrao, Jiangxi: Jiangxi Optical Instrument General Factory (composed of relocated parts of Shanghai Film Machinery Factory, Shanghai Camera Factory No. 2, Jiangnan Optical Instrument Factory, Nanjing Surveying and Mapping Instrument Factory, Nanjing Mold Factory, etc.); with a registered capital of 36 million yuan at that time, it officially started production in 1969. Phenix Optics is headquartered in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. On July 1, 2015, along with the controlling shareholder Phenix Optics Holding Co., Ltd. being transferred without compensation to CETC Hik Group Co., Ltd., it became an industry under China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. The actual controller of Phenix Optics changed from Jiangxi Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Phenix Optics is mainly engaged in the R&D, production and sales of optical components, metal components, various optical lenses, medical endoscope products, microscopes, intelligent controllers, intelligent imaging products, etc. It has comprehensive research, development and production capabilities in optics, machinery, electronics, plastics and other disciplines, and has a domestic leading level in processing techniques such as optical cold processing, metal precision processing, surface heat treatment, optical coating, injection molding and precision mold manufacturing. The company has a strict comprehensive quality management system and a nationwide quality information feedback network. It has passed ISO 9001 quality management system certification, ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system certification, and TS 16949 automotive quality system certification. The "Phenix" brand has developed into a well-known national industrial brand in the international optical industry.
