Nacelle-mounted wind-measurement lidar ATOM-Lidar-T400
Zhongke Yuanzi's nacelle-mounted coherent Doppler wind lidar is installed on top of a wind-turbine nacelle. It measures Doppler shifts in atmospheric returns of pulsed laser light to obtain wind profiles within 400 meters ahead of the blades. It provides a reliable, efficient solution for feedforward turbine control, improving efficiency and reducing loads, and can also be used for wind-power testing and wake monitoring. The lidar performs coherent heterodyne detection between a single-frequency local-oscillator signal and aerosol-backscattered laser light. Doppler frequency shifts determine radial wind speed. Multibeam scanning measures wind speed in several directions to reconstruct real-time wind-field data.
