Equipment-Side Fiber Distribution Frame
The fiber distribution series serves central offices, optical cross-connect nodes and optical access points in user access networks. Functions include cable entry, securing, stripping protection, fiber splicing and protection, pigtail storage and management, fixed connections and cross-connections. Functional types are line-side, equipment-side and main optical distribution frames. The equipment-side frame, also called an intermediate distribution frame, connects, routes and tests different optical communications devices in an equipment room and stores excess patch-cord length from line and equipment ends. ① An integral welded sheet-metal frame provides high mechanical strength. ② Left/right patching intermediate frames offer simple operation and a clear interface. ③ Front/rear patching versions use unit boxes with internal pigtail storage for a neat appearance.
