Glass Lens
A glass lens is a transparent optical element made of optical glass. Its core function is to change the direction of light propagation through the phenomenon of light refraction, achieving light convergence, divergence, or collimation, and it is the "core organ" of optical equipment such as cameras, glasses, microscopes, and telescopes. When light enters glass from air, because the optical densities of air and glass differ, the propagation speed changes, causing the light to refract. The curved shape of the lens determines the direction of the refracted light: a convex surface converges light toward the center, while a concave surface diverges light toward the edges. Glass lenses include the following types: convex lenses, concave lenses, combination lenses, etc.
