Polarization Beamsplitter Cube (PBS)
A polarizing beamsplitter cube is made by cementing two right-angle prisms, with a polarizing dielectric coating on the hypotenuse of one prism. When used with normal-incidence, unpolarized light, the incident beam is split into two polarized beams: the p-polarized component passes directly through, and the s-polarized component is reflected out at 90 degrees. It has a high damage threshold, and coatings are available for 355, 405, 532, 633, 780-808, 1064 nm, or broadband.
