infrared lens
YG Optics manufactures a wide range of infrared lenses in shapes including plano-convex, double-convex, plano-concave, double-concave, meniscus, etc. Commonly used infrared materials include calcium fluoride, barium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, silicon, germanium, zinc selenide, and others, covering wavebands from deep ultraviolet to far infrared. We also offer coatings for the infrared band; common AR coatings include 1.8-3 µm, 3-5 µm, 8-14 µm, etc. Special coatings can be customized according to customer requirements. The table below lists the characteristics of commonly used infrared lenses. Calcium Fluoride ★ Transmission range 0.17-7.8 µm ★ Ideal for excimer laser applications ★ Low refractive index and low reflection loss, can be used uncoated. Barium Fluoride ★ Transmission range 0.2-11 µm ★ High damage threshold ★ 3-5 µm AR coatings available. Magnesium Fluoride ★ Transmission range 0.12-7 µm ★ High mechanical strength ★ Low refractive index and low reflection loss, can be used uncoated. Silicon ★ Transmission range 1.2-7 µm ★ Lightweight with good thermal conductivity ★ 3-5 µm AR coatings available. Germanium ★ Transmission range 2-14 µm ★ Mainly used in security, military, and infrared imaging ★ 8-14 µm AR coatings available. Zinc Selenide ★ Transmission range 0.
