zinc selenide
Zinc selenide (ZnSe) is an excellent material for the optics field, especially suitable for infrared (IR) applications. It is highly transparent over a wide infrared range, making it ideal for lenses, windows and prisms in thermal imaging systems, CO2 lasers and infrared spectroscopy. ZnSe has a relatively high refractive index and a low absorption coefficient, ensuring efficient transmission of infrared light. In addition, its good mechanical strength and thermal shock resistance make it suitable for high-power laser systems and demanding environments. Due to these properties, ZnSe is a key material in industrial and scientific optical applications.
