Silver-Coated Mirror

Application of silver-coated reflectors: In the visible to near-infrared spectrum range, silver-coated reflectors are metal film reflectors with higher reflectivity and also provide high reflectivity in the infrared band. To protect the silver from oxidation, these mirrors are coated with a durable SiO2 coating approximately 100 nm thick. Although the protective layer prevents silver from oxidizing, it cannot be used in high humidity environments. Because they provide high reflectivity in the 450 nm to 20 μm range, these mirrors are ideal for use with femtosecond pulsed lasers. Characteristics of silver-coated reflectors: ●High reflectivity in the visible and near-infrared bands ●The outermost layer is coated with a SIO2 protective layer to prevent oxidation and increase strength ●Specifications can be customized according to customer specific requirements Care and operation Silver-coated reflectors are susceptible to the influence of the environment and improper operation, so they need to be handled with special care. Fingerprints, contact with friction surfaces, high temperature or high humidity environments will weaken the performance of the protective film and cause the silver film to oxidize and degrade. It is recommended to use protective products such as latex gloves when operating silver-coated reflectors to prevent grease and other residues from the user's fingers from contaminating the surface of the optical components.
