DKDP (KD*P) Pockels Cell Product Attributes

An electro-optic material such as KD*P crystal can alter the polarization state of light passing through it, when an applied voltage induces birefringence change in the crystal. When used in conjunction with polarizers, the KD*P Pockels Cell can function as optical Q-switch to generate laser pulses, as well as Pockels Cell Modulator . KD*P is used for applications from UV up to around 1.1 µm where absorption limits its use in active cavities, although it can be useful at longer wavelengths when a few percent of absorption can be tolerated.
