Vector Optical Field Experiment System Option Two
Vector and vector-vortex beams offer broad potential in laser processing, super-resolution imaging, micromanipulation and communications. Since research requires adjustment of multiple field parameters, passive methods are suitable. The UPOLabs system uses HDSLM80R to control polarization and phase in real time, emphasizing passive-method flexibility and convenience. Vector beams have spatially varying polarization. Polarization-vortex beams have centrally symmetric polarization and are cylindrical-coordinate eigen-solutions of Maxwell's equations. Conventionally, beams with polarization vortices but no phase vortex are called vector beams; those with both are vector-vortex beams. The former carry no orbital angular momentum, while the latter do. The system includes the full component configuration and technical support for researchers and engineers.
