Optical Vortex Beam Experiment System Basic version
The UPOLabs vortex-beam experimental system uses a spatial light modulator, beam profiler and other components to generate vortex beams by two methods: a spiral phase plate and a dislocation grating. Applications include optical-field control, optical communications, holographic optical tweezers, optical rotation and optical trapping, with custom development supported. A vortex wavefront is neither planar nor spherical but has a continuously helical phase distribution. Vortex beams of different orders and radii generated by the system can support an optical-tweezers platform for capturing, manipulating, rotating and trapping micro/nanoparticles of different sizes and types. This expands optical-tweezers manipulation and provides theoretical and technical support for further development of optical tweezers, optical rotation, optical trapping and nanotechnology. It is an advanced innovative experimental system for teaching and research.
