Scan engine
A scan engine is a core decoding component that integrates "optical acquisition unit + photoelectric conversion unit + decoding algorithm unit + signal output unit". Its core function is to quickly identify the information in a barcode — it is not merely "simply reading an image", but rather captures the barcode image through an optical system, converts the optical signal into an electrical signal, and then parses the numeric/character information stored in the code through a dedicated algorithm, finally outputting a signal that can be recognized by the device. Scan engines have the following types: consumer-electronics-grade scan engines, industrial-grade scan engines, high-temperature environment engines, etc.
